French Ministry of Foreign Affairs commented on the statement made by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during the congress of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party on February 8, that is "the pressure on Armenia will continue to return historic territories, Yerevan and Armenia in general."
According to Armenpress, the position of France on these statements, which not only run counter to the principles of OSCE but also threaten the existence of Armenia, reflects in the reply of French foreign ministry: "France continues to fully participate in seeking a settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict through discussions. We call upon the conflict sides to work diligently in this direction, particularly in refraining from any kind of statements and actions that can escalate the tension."
