French President Macron declares economic emergency

President Emmanuel Macron addressed the Nation on Yellow Vests protest, declaring an economic state of emergency. Macron tried to pour some cold water on protests by announcing a special year-end bonus that will be exempted of taxes, an increase of €100 for minimum wage and also a tax exemption on extra-hours. He also announced the partial cancellation of the social tax hike, in a last-ditch effort to soothe public anger. EUR takes notice, extending its daily decline against most rivals.
