PM receives Russian Defense Minister
![]() 1939 Tuesday, 29 October, 2019, 21:40 Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan today received a delegation headed by RF Minister of Defense, Army General Sergey Shoygu. Greeting the Russian Defense Minister, Nikol Pashinyan hailed the strategic ties of partnership between Russia and Armenia. He noted that the frequent meetings between the leadership of Armenia and Russia, and the dynamically developing cooperation testify to the sustained dynamics of partnership. He emphasized that the Russian-Armenian cooperation in the field of defense promotes stability and security in the region. Prime Minister Pashinyan expressed satisfaction with the ongoing military and military-technical cooperation and voiced confidence that the Minister’s visit would help expand the scope of interaction. Thankful for the warm reception, the Russian Defense Minister said he was pleased with the pace of cooperation with the Armenian defense ministry. In this context, he highlighted the signing earlier today of the 2020 Cooperation Plan between the defense ministries of the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation. Nikol Pashinyan and Sergey Shoygu exchanged views on the strengthening of the Armenian-Russian strategic ties, the furtherance of cooperation in the military-technical sector, as well as issues related to regional and international security, the situation and the Armenian humanitarian mission in Syria. |
