Haredi rioters clash with police in Mea Shearim over lockdown
![]() 2841 Friday, 17 April, 2020, 16:00 Dozens of ultra-Orthodox (haredi) rioters clashed with police forces in Jerusalem's Mea Shearim neighborhood Thursday night during a protest against the lockdown imposed on the area.Police said that rioters threw eggs and stones at law enforcement. Videos from the riot showed police forces facing metal bars thrown by the rioters. According to the protesters, the lockdown was discriminating against Israel's ultra-Orthodox Jewish community. According to live reports from the riot, several people were injured by stun grenades used by Israel Police's Special Patrol Unit.
