An explosion occurred in downtown Kabul in the path of Afghan Vice President Amrullah Saleh’s motorcade, killing 10 people and injuring as many others, but the vice president himself was not injured, Afghan television channel TOLO News reported Wednesday.
''Afghanistan’s enemies tried again today to harm Saleh, but they failed to realize their devilish plan. Saleh was not harmed,'' Razvan Murad of the vice president’s office said.
According to Afghan media reports, the assassination attempt took place a few days after Saleh tried to return to discussions with Pakistan about the Durand Line, an unmarked part of the more than 2,000km-long Afghan-Pakistani border.
