''Sadly this time it wasn’t our day'': Prince William commented on the defeat of the national team of England

Prince William tweeted a message to the devastated England team within minutes of their penalty shoot-out defeat against Italy.
Luke Shaw gave Gareth Southgate's men an early lead, but the Italians equalised to take the Euro 2020 Final to penalties at Wembley - and the visitors emerged victorious to deny England their first major honour in 55 years.
The Duke of Cambridge also congratulated Italy on their win in the tweet from the KensingtonRoyal account.
He wrote: “Heartbreaking. Congratulations @azzurri on a great victory.
''@England, you’ve all come so far, but sadly this time it wasn’t our day. You can all hold your heads high, and be so proud of yourselves - I know there’s more to come. W.''
A win would have been the men’s football team’s first major tournament win since the 1966 World Cup success, which also took place at Wembley.
Heartbreaking. Congratulations @Azzurri on a great victory.
