Council of Europe Committee of Ministers suspends relations with Belarus over Ukraine
1583 Thursday, 17 March, 2022, 20:36 The Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe on Thursday decided to suspend relations with Belarus in connection with the situation in Ukraine, the Iceland Permanent Representation reported. "The Council of Europe Committee of Minister today decided to suspend all relations with Belarus as a result of the country’s active participation in Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. It also decided to maintain and enhance relations with Belarusian civil society and opposition in exile," the Iceland Permanent Representation said on Twitter. The day before, the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe expelled Russia from the organization. |
