At the same time, the United States is aware that not all countries can refuse to import Russian energy resources, as Washington did, a senior White House official said following an online meeting between Joe Biden and Narendra Modi.
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken urged other countries to refuse additional purchases of Russian energy resources. He stated this at a joint press conference with US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, Indian Foreign Minister Subramaniam Jaishankar and Indian Defense Minister Rajnat Singh.
Each of the countries has a different situation, different needs, requirements, but we expect that allies and partners will not increase purchases of Russian energy carriers, — noted Blinken.
