Lithuania proposes EU to impose sanctions against Patriarch Kirill
![]() 1139 Sunday, 24 April, 2022, 15:54 Lithuania sent the EU authorities a proposal to include the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill in the sanctions lists because of the hostilities in Ukraine. The possible introduction of such measures is reported by the portal 15min.lt with reference to the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the republic, Gabrielius Landsbergis. According to him, many Lithuanian Orthodox hierarchs who want to break off relations with the Moscow Patriarchate insist on such a decision. At the same time, the minister noted that in the EU itself there is no consensus on such a decision yet. |
