Proposal to ban schengen visas for Russians submitted to EU for discussion

The proposal to ban Schengen visas for citizens of Russia has been submitted to the European Union for discussion.
The news of the submission of the proposal was announced by a German Cabinet spokesperson, Steffen Hebestreit, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.
The spokesperson said that the proposal would be discussed between the Cabinet members of Germany as well as within the EU.
Commenting on the content of the proposal, the spokesperson of Germany’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Andrea Sasse, noted that the document includes a ban on issuing visas not only for Russians but also for students as well as relatives of EU citizens.
