Turkey did not accept the decision of four subjects to join Russia

Turkey does not accept the decision of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics (DNR, LNR), Zaporozhye and Kherson regions to join Russia. This is stated in a statement to site Turkish Foreign Ministry.

“In line with the position we took back in 2014, we reject Russia’s decision to annex the Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions of Ukraine,” the statement said. The Turkish ministry added that the country condemns this decision as it is a flagrant violation of international law.

In addition, Ankara called on the parties to negotiate a peaceful settlement.
