Quake death toll in Turkey rises to 47,975
1092 Sunday, 12 March, 2023, 12:06 At least 47,975 people were killed by two strong earthquakes that hit southeastern Turkey on the border with Syria on February 6, the head of the Coordination Center of the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) Yunus Sezer confirmed. Among the deceased, there are 6,278 foreign nationals, according to the official. |
