Anti-aircraft defences were at work in Kyiv in the early hours of Thursday morning, officials and media outlets report. Local media reported hearing explosions in the southern city of Zaporizhzhia and the Black Sea port of Odesa.
Air alerts also sounded in the southern and eastern regions of Ukraine including Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv and Kherson.
