Scholz explained why he opposes the supply of Taurus to Ukraine

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz confirmed the refusal to supply Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine and stressed that the transfer of such weapons is excluded, since it requires the participation of the German military.
According to the DPA news agency, during a trip to the city of Sindelfingen in southwestern Germany, the head of government called the discussion of possible deliveries of Taurus to Kiev "a strange discussion."
"It cannot be that they supply a combat system that has a very long range without thinking about how to exercise control over it. And if you want to control and this is possible only if the German military participates, then this [supply] is completely excluded," Scholz added. "I have stated this very clearly. I am the chancellor, and therefore this is valid," he said.
