EU's Michel congratulates Putin as election starts

European Council President Charles Michel congratulated Russian President Vladimir Putin on his election victory in a social media post on Friday. Polls in the Russian presidential election opened today and will close on Sunday. "Would like to congratulate Vladimir Putin on his landslide victory in the elections starting today. No opposition. No freedom. No choice," Michel wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
