Mass unrest broke out in Turkey
![]() 3383 Wednesday, 03 April, 2024, 09:54 The unrest began after Van city authorities at the last minute banned opposition candidate Abdullah Zeidan from running for mayor. In the vote, from which Zeidan was not removed, he eventually won, and the authorities annulled his results, handing the victory to the candidate from Erdogan’s party, Abdullah Arwas. ️ After this, clashes with the police began in the Turkish cities of Hakkari and Adana: shots were heard there, security forces made arrests. Protests are also taking place in other cities of the country, but so far they are not of such a radical nature. |
