![]() 3040 Monday, 29 July, 2024, 00:36 The day after the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics, eleven Hermès bags were stolen from the daughter-in-law of the Emir of Qatar on the Nice-Paris high-speed train. The incident occurred on Saturday, July 27. According to Le Parisien, the daughter-in-law of the Emir of Qatar, accompanied by her servants, boarded a high-speed train at the Cannes train station. The train, traveling from Nice, was supposed to arrive at the Gare de Lyon in Paris. Between 12:00 and 1:40 p.m., the woman discovered that 11 luxury brand Hermès bags had been stolen from her. The luggage contained “personal items of great value,” according to The Parisien. The train was stopped and detained for approximately twenty minutes at Toulon station for a search, but the bags were never found. The Toulon National Police District Office has launched an investigation into the theft. A representative of the French railways, in a conversation with Le Parisien, declined to comment on this case. “SNCF is not responsible in the event of loss or theft. Only the passenger is responsible for the inspection of his baggage,” he said. |
