Address of the third president of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on the occasion of Armenia’s Independence Day

Independence, just like victory, is awarded to the worthy, to those, who after gaining these values through the struggle and hardship, also know who to maintain it.

Any nation for which independence is not a conscious choice and a vital necessity will lose it.

Eternal glory to all our martyrs who gave their lives for our Independence. A tribute to their memory is first of all our collective ability to be worthy of their deed as well as the ability to safeguard their sacred mission.
