US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mark Libby has resigned from the diplomatic service due to health, the US Embassy in Azerbaijan revealed, Report informs.
“It is with a heavy heart that I announce my retirement from US diplomatic service. The health concerns I noted in my testimony before the US Senate in 2023 have, unfortunately, persisted. So I will retire shortly after we finish out this exceptionally busy – but exceptionally successful – 2024 calendar year. I intend to use my remaining few weeks in Azerbaijan to set the stage for a successful 2025 and to promote cancer awareness.
