On December 14, the South Korean parliament voted to impeach President Yoon Suk Yeol who had announced a hasty decision to introduce a martial law. The Constitutional Court must now decide whether to remove the incumbent leader from office. Yoon Suk Yeol is suspected of plotting a rebellion to overthrow the constitutional order. Yonhap previously reported that prosecutors summoned Yoon Suk Yeol for questioning on December 15, but he did not show up. |
