Presidential Candidate Georgescu Detained in Romania

Romanian police have arrested presidential candidate Calin Gheorghescu, who won the election.

Romania had annulled his victory and ordered new elections.

Georgescu was detained while on his way to re-submit documents to register as a presidential candidate.

Gheorghescu is suspected of illegally financing his election campaign.
