The first contacts with the new US administration inspire some hope. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at a meeting of the FSB board.
''Western elites are determined to maintain instability in the world and will try to disrupt the dialogue between Russia and the United States,'' Putin said.
The Russian President touched upon the changes that have occurred in relations with the United States since the new administration came to power, emphasizing the fact that the US ''current partners are demonstrating pragmatism.''
