Russian State Duma deputy Yuri Nesterenko called French President Emmanuel Macron's plan for a ceasefire in Ukraine a failure of real peace initiatives and an attempt to prolong the military conflict.
Earlier, Macron said in an interview with Figaro that he and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer had proposed a partial ceasefire for a month, followed by the deployment of a peacekeeping force in Ukraine.
"These initiatives cannot be called anything other than a failure of real peace initiatives and an attempt to prolong the conflict," Nesterenko told RIA Novosti.
