Vance reveals details of Trump-Zelensky meeting

US President Donald Trump tried to be kind and nice during the first half hour of his meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky, US Vice President J.D. Vance said.
"He tried to… be nice and nice to Zelensky for the first 25 to 30 minutes, even when Zelensky was kind of taking potshots at him, even when Zelensky was saying things that I thought were not true. The president was just trying to be diplomatic," he said in an interview with Fox News.
Vance added that after the failure of the talks, the Ukrainian delegation tried to continue negotiations with Trump at least once, but was refused due to the unwillingness to talk about peace and the "disrespect" shown.
Trump scolded Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House last week when he arrived to sign an agreement on the joint development of Ukrainian mineral resources. Zelensky began to justify his actions, and even threatened the United States that they would feel the consequences of the conflict, even though they are separated by an ocean. The Kyiv delegation was asked to leave the White House, and the agreement was not signed.
