Peskov: Normalization of relations between Russia and the US should involve lifting sanctions

Normalization of Russian-American relations should presuppose their release from the burden of sanctions, said the press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov at a briefing.

At the same time, he pointed out, there is no evidence of such plans yet.

"Our attitude to sanctions is well known, we consider them illegal," the Kremlin representative pointed out. "Of course, if we talk about normalization of bilateral relations, then they need to be freed from this negative burden of so-called sanctions."

At the same time, in terms of progress on this issue, Peskov pointed out, "it is probably too early to talk about anything. We have not heard any official statements," he added.
