Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that the actions of protesters participating in demonstrations against the detention of Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu are illegal and undemocratic. According to Erdogan, the Turkish authorities "will not succumb to street terror."
