Syrian leader appoints brother as presidential secretary general
![]() 2974 Monday, 07 April, 2025, 14:09 The younger brother of the interim Syrian president, Maher Al-Sharaa, has been appointed as the secretary general of the president's office. The government-run Syria TV channel reported this. Previously, a graduate of Voronezh State Medical University, Maher Al-Sharaa served as the Minister of Health in the Syrian transitional government from December 10, 2024 to March 29, 2025. Maher Al-Sharaa, 52, is a doctor of medical sciences and a specialist in gynecology, having previously worked in Saudi Arabia and Russia. |
