"What message are you sending to democratic Armenia by visiting Azerbaijan?" - Council of Europe member

Greek MEP Fragkos Emmanuel Fragkoulis criticized the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaya Kalas, for her upcoming official visit to Azerbaijan.

“Armenia chooses democracy, adopts the European Union accession low, faces threats, but the EU foreign policy chief visits autocratic Azerbaijan. Why reward an aggressor and ignore a reformer? Kaya Kalas, what message are you sending to democratic Armenia, which defends its lands from Azerbaijan?” the MP wrote in X.

Kaya Kalas will arrive in Azerbaijan on an official visit on April 25. During the visit, she will meet with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, as well as Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.
