Pope Leo XIV laid out the vision of his papacy Saturday, identifying artificial intelligence as one of the most critical matters facing humanity and vowing to continue with some of the core priorities of Pope Francis.

In his speech, he promised to continue to follow the main priorities of his predecessor, Pope Francis. He called for preserving the “precious legacy” of Francis I.

In Leo XIV’s words, it represented “a bold and credible dialogue with the modern world, with its diverse components and realities.”
