Fidan: "There are two paths: one leads to peace, the other to even greater destruction"
![]() 705 Friday, 16 May, 2025, 15:52 The meeting between the delegations of Russia and Ukraine has begun in Istanbul, a TASS source reports. Before the start of the negotiations, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan called on the parties to reach an agreement on peace. “There are two paths: one leads to peace, the other to greater destruction. The parties themselves will decide which one to choose. This is the first meeting in three years, and it is an opportunity that must be appreciated. Every day of the conflict brings new victims,” Fidan said. He added that Ankara sincerely believes that if the parties approach the negotiations constructively, they will be able to move closer to peace. |
