Storms in the US have killed at least 16 people

At least 16 people have died and dozens have been injured in storms in the US states of Missouri and Kentucky, NBC reported.
“Nine people died in Laurel region of Kentucky, five people died in St. Louis, and two more in Scott County, in southeastern Missouri,” the television station reported, citing Laurel officials.
Earlier, two more people were killed in West Virginia by lightning strikes, the media outlet reported.
