Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney in Rome on May 17, Ukrainian media reported.
The two presidents discussed the talks between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations in Turkey, the need to put pressure on Russia to stop the war, and the need for a prisoner exchange.
“We need to put pressure on Russia, on Putin, to achieve peace as soon as possible. Sanctions are very important. So we need to put pressure on him. More pressure, more sanctions. We are grateful for your sanctions packages, your support for European and American sanctions,” Zelensky said.
