45 people killed as a result of thunderstorms in India

"At least 45 people were killed in Uttar Pradesh as a result of thunderstorms that hit several counties on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning. Most of the dead were in the districts of Kasganj and Fatehpur — five people each," the publication says. It is reported that two people in the cities of Chitrakuta and Ambedkarnagar died due to lightning strikes. According to the newspaper, the wind speed reached 60-100 km/h, and the intensification of thunderstorm activity will last until Monday. The Government has instructed the local authorities to promptly transfer compensation to the families of the victims. |
