Belousov: "Tensions remain around Armenia's Syunik region"
![]() 1027 Wednesday, 28 May, 2025, 14:34 Tensions remain over the Syunik region of Armenia. This was stated by Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov at a meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers of the CSTO countries. “Extraregional countries have become more active in the South Caucasus. The purpose of such activation is not to strengthen security, but to expand their influence,” the Russian Defense Minister stated. “Another reason for concern is the unsettled Armenian-Azerbaijani relations. Moscow, for its part, is interested and ready to contribute in every way to the signing of a peace treaty by Yerevan and Baku,” Belousov concluded. |
