36 people killed in floods in India

At least 36 people have died due to floods in northeastern India, The Hindu newspaper reports. According to the newspaper, 550,000 people have been affected.
Earlier, it was reported that flooding began in the area of a hydroelectric power station in the north of the country due to heavy rains and the Teesta River overflowing its banks.
More than 1,500 tourists, as the Mint newspaper wrote, were trapped due to floods and landslides caused by heavy monsoon rains.
