Russia and Ukraine have carried out the first stage of a new prisoner exchange

On June 9, in accordance with the Russian-Ukrainian agreements reached on June 2 in Istanbul, the first group of Russian servicemen under 25 years of age was returned from the territory controlled by the Kyiv regime, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
In exchange, a similar number of prisoners of war of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were transferred.
Currently, Russian servicemen are on the territory of the Republic of Belarus, where they are receiving the necessary psychological and medical assistance.
All Russian servicemen will be delivered to the Russian Federation for treatment and rehabilitation in medical institutions of the Russian Defense Ministry.
Earlier, the parties agreed that they would exchange wounded and seriously ill servicemen, as well as prisoners under the age of 25, in an “all for all” format.
