Los Angeles leaders impose curfew as protests against Trump’s immigration crackdown continue
![]() 533 Wednesday, 11 June, 2025, 10:04 Saying the city had reached a “tipping point” following days of unrest and increasing vandalism in the wake of protests over immigration raids, Mayor Karen Bass ordered a curfew Tuesday for a small part of Los Angeles most affected by the violence. The downtown curfew will be in effect from 8 p.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday, with violators subject to arrest and prosecution, Bass said. She added that the curfew will be re-evaluated Wednesday but that she expects it to continue for several days. |
