"Armenia should take a sober look at ensuring its security" - Russian Foreign Ministry
![]() 564 Saturday, 21 June, 2025, 21:34 Armenia, which has “frozen” its membership in the CSTO, should soberly look at its security capabilities, including in the collective format. This opinion was expressed in an interview with RIA Novosti by Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Pankin. He added that Yerevan’s situation of non-payment of its contribution to the CSTO may begin to be discussed after December 31, 2025, but it is still unclear in what spirit the discussion will take place. “Everyone understands that Armenia, which has frozen, as they say, its membership in the CSTO, does not participate in decision-making, but does not interfere in it, probably still needs to soberly look at its security capabilities, including in the collective format of the CSTO. The decision, in any case, will depend on the Armenian authorities,” Pankin noted. |
