Residents evacuated as wildfires rage in Crete

The fire is spreading rapidly due to strong winds, with gusts reaching 8 on the Beaufort scale. The flames are moving south and pose a threat to residential buildings, tourist complexes and important infrastructure, including petrol stations. A large-scale evacuation has begun in the municipality of Ferma and the surrounding areas. |
