Emergency services have been tackling a leak of liquid ammonia from a tanker at the Russian Baltic Sea port of Ust-Luga, the transport ministry said on Sunday.
The ministry said the leak, which it described as “insignificant,” from the ECO WIZARD tanker happened earlier in the day during loading operations.
The crew of 23 was evacuated and no one was injured, the ministry added.
According to LSEG data, the tanker, under the Marshall Islands flag, is moored at Ust-Luga’s EuroChem terminal. The vessel is managed by the Athens-registered Brave Maritime Corporation.
