Residents evacuated in 4 Thai provinces

Authorities in four Thai provinces bordering Cambodia have ordered the evacuation of residents due to heightened tensions, the local newspaper Nation reported.
“The governors of four provinces bordering Cambodia, where clashes broke out on Thursday, have ordered the evacuation of residents living near the border,” the Nation reported.
According to the source, the provinces are Surin, Buriram, Sisaket and Ubon Ratchathani.
Earlier, there were clashes between troops on the Thai-Cambodian border, which began with a shootout between ground troops in the disputed area.
