30 dead, 80,000 evacuated in Beijing floods
![]() 1089 Tuesday, 29 July, 2025, 11:03 Heavy rains and subsequent flooding in Beijing have killed 30 people and forced more than 80,000 residents to evacuate, China Central Television reported. Most of the dead, 28, were in the Miyun district north of the capital. The rains have caused significant damage, damaging highways and power lines. In response, Chinese President Xi Jinping has urged authorities to make every effort to prevent further loss of life. |
