US President Donald Trump may issue an ultimatum to Ukraine and the EU in order to persuade them to peace following a meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Alaska, the British magazine The Economist writes.
"This could put Ukraine and its European allies in a desperate situation: either sign an agreement (With Russia. - Ed.) and agree to the restructuring of European security, or reject it and risk that Trump will leave and reduce intelligence and military support for Ukraine," the article says.
According to the publication, Trump made it clear that it was he who would decide what was a "fair deal", ignoring the anti-Russian calls of the Europeans.
