"It is necessary to take into account Armenia's membership in the EAEU and the presence of Russian border guards in Syunik" - Russian Foreign Ministry
![]() 454 Thursday, 14 August, 2025, 13:02 Russia will study the details of the project for a transport corridor between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which will be called the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity,” Alexei Fadeev, Deputy Director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said at a briefing. “As for the “Trump Route,” the Russian Foreign Ministry will study the details of the project. As we have already noted, the involvement of extra-regional forces in the South Caucasus in this case should advance the peace agenda, rather than create new problems and new dividing lines,” he said. “It is necessary to take into account such factors as Armenia’s membership in the EAEU and the presence of Russian border guards in the Syunik region. They should be taken into account when developing decisions on unblocking transport communications in the region,” Fadeev added. |
