![]() 584 Saturday, 16 August, 2025, 21:19 US President Donald Trump made a grand return to the international arena for his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin during a summit in Alaska, the Tribune de Genève newspaper reported. The newspaper said the Russian president’s trip outside Russia was “in itself exceptional” in the context of sanctions. “The fact that he went to the United States and was given a grand welcome was absolutely impossible before Donald Trump’s sensational return to the White House,” the newspaper wrote, noting the US president’s desire to impress his Russian counterpart. The lavish reception for Putin was attended by military personnel, including a B-2 strategic bomber and fighter jets. |
