Helicopter shot down in Colombia, 16 police officers killed
![]() 2609 Friday, 22 August, 2025, 10:24 16 police officers were killed when a helicopter crashed in northern Colombia after being shot down by members of the Central Command armed group, President Gustavo Petro said. The president said the so-called 36th Front of the Central Command, based in the department of Antioquia, was responsible for the helicopter crash. The regional governor, Andrés Julian, said the plane was shot down by a drone. |
