Tehran has threatened retaliation after Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced the expulsion of Iran's ambassador from the country. This was reported by Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei.
"The accusations are completely baseless. Any inappropriate and groundless action at the diplomatic level will be responded to with reciprocal measures," Baghaei said.
The prime minister had accused the Iranian government of being involved in attacks on Israeli targets in Australia.
