The process of liquidating the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) will now be led by Russell Voight, the director of the Office of Management and Budget, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced.
“I jokingly told President Donald Trump that I had four jobs. He told me to give one of them to my friend Russell Voight. So I did. Since January, we have saved taxpayers tens of billions of dollars. And with the transfer of a small package of core programs to the State Department, USAID is officially in liquidation mode. Russ is now leading the process of liquidating an agency that has long since gone off the rails. Congrats, Russ,” the secretary wrote in a letter to X.
