Plane carrying Pete Hegseth forced to land in UK due to crack in windshield
![]() 938 Wednesday, 15 October, 2025, 23:28 A plane carrying Pete Hegseth, the US defense secretary, on Wednesday made an unscheduled landing in the United Kingdom due to a crack in the aircraft’s windshield, the Pentagon said, adding Hegseth was safe. “The plane landed based on standard procedures and everyone onboard, including Secretary Hegseth, is safe,” Sean Parnell, a Pentagon spokesperson, said in a post on X. This is not the first time US military aircraft carrying senior officials have suffered mechanical issues. Earlier this year, a US air force plane carrying Marco Rubio, secretary of state, to Munich was forced to return to Washington after experiencing a mechanical problem. |
