Maduro in court: A motorcade carrying ousted Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro has now arrived at a New York City courthouse ahead of his appearance later today to face drug and weapons charges. In footage filmed by WABC, Maduro was seen in handcuffs. wearing a tan-coloured jacket and trousers and is surrounded by armed officers.

Venezuela’s future: Following Maduro’s capture in a military strike on Saturday, President Donald Trump said America is “in charge,” as acting president Delcy Rodríguez called for “cooperation” with the US — a softening in her response to the attack. The US is working to establish a pliant interim government in Venezuela, with Secretary of State Marco Rubio saying the focus is on setting policy and maintaining “leverage.”

Trump’s threats: Trump implied that he could take military action in Colombia, told Mexico to get its “act together” on drugs, and said the US “needs Greenland.”
